Marjorie

Welcome! I'm delighted that you're here. My name is Marjorie Mae, and I am a devoted Mother, wife, doula, and student midwife, committed to fostering a calm and safe environment for mothers and their babies during the miraculous journey of childbirth.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am incredibly grateful for my family, who brings me immeasurable joy and support. My husband, Dakota, is my rock, and together we embrace the beautiful chaos of raising two wonderful children. Our family is guided by faith, as we are followers of Jesus Christ, finding strength and purpose in His teachings.

Before pursuing my passion for all things birth and postpartum, I proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. As a mechanic, I honed my skills in problem-solving and attention to detail, which have proven invaluable in my current field. My military experience instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, perseverance, and the importance of teamwork, qualities that continue to shape my professional, loving approach to quality care. In 2016, I made the decision to leave the military, while Dakota continues to serve to this day.

During our time in California, we discovered the incredible news of expecting our first child, Lakelyn. It was a realization that we would be embarking on this beautiful journey without the physical presence of family or close friends. Despite this, we leaned on each other and welcomed Lakelyn in September 2019. This experience ignited a growing desire within me to assist and support other mothers during the transformative stages of birth and postpartum.

With a deep passion for empowering women and families, becoming a Doula was a natural choice. It felt as if I had discovered my true purpose to serve families as they begin their own profound journeys. Witnessing the raw beauty of birth and the sweet bliss of newborns is an honor beyond words.

When Lakelyn was just 5 weeks old, we attended a DONA Birth Doula Training, which further cemented my dedication to this calling. The sudden arrival of COVID disrupted our plans, overwhelming hospitals and necessitating a move. With Lakelyn at just 7 months old, Dakota received orders, and we relocated our young family to Texas. Now, at the age of 4, Lakelyn keeps me on my toes with her delightful spirit.

After settling into our new surroundings, the universe blessed us once again with two pink lines, reminding me of the importance of being present for my family. In June 2021, our son, Haeken, was born at home, completing our beautiful family. At 2 years old Haeken is our tenacious boy obsessed with discovering how things work and how to fix them. And now, I am ready to immerse myself fully in my passion and see where this journey takes me.

In my commitment to providing exceptional care, I prioritize staying up to date with the latest certifications and training. I am proud to be well-versed in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS), ensuring that I am prepared to offer the highest level of care in critical moments. I am also enrolled in Midwifery School at the Association of Texas Midwives.

When I'm not immersed in my midwifery studies, you can often find me spending quality time with my loved ones. I love to tend to my garden and add houseplants wherever I can squeeze them in. Our family expanded with the adoption of our beloved fur babies, Emmy Lou (2017), and more recently, Enzo (2023), who continue to keep us on our toes with their contagious energy.

Creating a tranquil and welcoming environment for mothers and their babies is at the heart of my practice. I believe in fostering trust, respect, and empowerment throughout the entire birthing process. By embracing a holistic approach, I strive to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the families I serve.

Being a military family, we are familiar with the inevitable transitions and relocations. As a mother and wife, it is my privilege to transform each new place into a loving home, ensuring that my children find comfort and stability amidst change. As your Birth/Postpartum Doula, my goal is to create a sense of security and familiarity wherever we may find ourselves, whether it was part of the plan or unexpected. It would be an absolute pleasure to provide you and your family with the support and care you deserve on your remarkable journey through motherhood.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am thrilled at the prospect of supporting you during this transformative time in your life.
